A Series of Unfortunate Events (Netflix) Season 1 Review

A Series of Unfortunate Events (Netflix) Season 1 Review

Unlike the film adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events, this new take by Netflix boasts of eight full episodes that capture and expand the essence of the novels. With a run time of about forty-five minutes per episode,  the story of the Baudelaire children, narrated by Lemony Snicket, becomes dreary and disheartening with few moments of levity.

Stranger Things Season 1 Review (Spoiler Free)

Stranger Things Season 1 Review (Spoiler Free)

In a world where it seems that superheroes are dominating television and film, comes a new and innovating show from Netflix called Stranger Things.

By now you’ve probably already heard some buzz on this new show. This was actually the main reason why I tried it out in the first place. People all over my social media couldn’t stop raving about it. Once I put on the first episode I was hooked.

This thrilling new show reintroduces us to the sci-fi genre in an innovative way. With a Stephen King tone and a setting in the 80’s, Stranger Things revolves around the disappearance of 12-year-old Will Byers. While his best friends go on a quest to find him, they discover a mysterious girl with special abilities that will change their lives forever.

Bates Motel Season 4 Episode 10 “Norman” Review

The season finale of Bates Motel delivered a heart-wrenching episode with Norman and Romero dealing with the fallout from last week. And once again this show proves that it may well be the best underrated show on television. I mean if Freddie Highmore or Vera Farmiga don’t win an Emmy, I think we just might have to turn a little psycho with the television academy. [Enter nervous laugh here.]

Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 4 “Book of the Stranger” Review

Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 4 “Book of the Stranger” Review

I’m guessing that by now everyone is feeling guilty for making fun of Daenerys every time she would reference all of her self-given titles. At least I know I am.

If there is anything tonight’s episode proved, is that she has earned every title through six seasons.

Over the years, Game of Thrones has become well-known for its dark  and tragic plot. But with this season, things have begun to change. Albeit, we still get some major blows to our fandom, but we also get long awaited reunions.
